2．華東藍刺頭 根含揮發油，已分離出24種成分：檸檬烯（limonene），薄荷酮（menthone），異薄荷酮（isomenthone），胡薄荷酮（pulegone），ξ-愈創木烯（ξ-guaiene），α-及β-檀香萜烯（santa-lene），葎草烯（humulene），表-β-檀香萜烯（epi-β-santalene），反式丁香烯（caryophyllene），α-香柑油烯（α-bergamotene），須式-β-金合歡烯（β-farnesene），丁香烯氧經物（caryophyllene oxide），苯并（1，2：5，4）聯噻吩，6，10，14-三甲基-2-十五碳烯（6，10，14-TCMLIBimethyl-2-pentadecene），5-（3-丁烯-1-炔基）聯噻吩[5-(3-buten-1-ynyl)bithiophene]，鄰苯二甲酸二丁酯（dibutlphyhalate），十產烷酸（hexadecanoic acid），9，12-十八碳二烯酸甲酯（methyl9，12-octadecadienoate），9-十八碳烯酸甲酯（methyl 9-octdecenoate），9-12-十八碳二烯酸（9，12-octadeca-dienoic acid），α-三聯噻吩（α-terthiophene）。還含5（4-O-異戊酰-1-炔基）聯噻吩[5-(4-O-isopentanoylbutyn-1-yl)-2，2-bithio-phene]，異卡多帕亭（isocardopatine），卡多帕亭（cardopatine），5-（3，4-二羥基-1-丁炔基）-2，2-聯噻吩[5-（3，4-dihydroxybutyn-1-yl）-2，2-bithiophene]。又含地榆糖甙（ziyulucoside）I，蒲公英賽醇乙酸酯（taraxerol acetate），熊果酸（ursonic acid），三十烷酸（TCMLIBiacon-tanoic acid）β-谷甾醇（β-sitosterol），胡蘿卜甙（darcosterol）。
3．新疆藍刺頭 根含生物堿：卡多帕亭，異卡多帕亭。藍刺頭堿（echinopsine），藍棗砂定堿（echinopsidine），藍刺頭胺（echinoramine），藍刺頭醚堿（echinorine）。又含三萜成分：α-香樹脂醇（α-amyrin），α-香樹脂醇乙酸酯（α-amyrin acetate），β-谷甾醇（β-sitosterol），胡蘿卜甙（daucosterol），冬青葉豚草酸（ilicic acid），木香酸（costic acid）。種子含藍刺頭寧堿（echinine）。
